The Women’s Health Research Institute (WHRI) has announced their winners for 2025’s Children’s and Women’s Digital Health Research Accelerator Grants, and among them is the Hippy Lab’s Head, Dr. Kishore Mulpuri!

The Global Hip Dysplasia Registry (GHDR) has achieved another remarkable milestone, surpassing 7,000 patients recruited worldwide.

Dr. Rujuta Mehta visited Hippy Lab this summer as the 2024 Russell G. Smith Travelling Fellow.

The Hippy Lab offers work opportunities to undergraduate students, enabling the students to learn more about clinical research and working in a hospital setting.

Hippy Lab is the recipient of a Michael Smith Health Research BC Convening and Collaborating Grant for the project, ‘Establishing a Patient/Family-Partner Hip Dysplasia Advisory Group.’

GHDR recently surpassed the incredible milestone of over 6,000 patients recruited worldwide.

Drs. Kishore Mulpuri (PI), Emily Schaeffer, Bryn Zomar, and Simon Kelley, and PhD candidate Jeffrey Bone, secured funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) for their clinical investigation project:

“Comparing observation vs. bracing in radiologically dysplastic, stable hips in infants with developmental dysplasia of the hip. An International Multi-Centre Non-Inferiority Randomized Control Trial”.

The Hippy Lab hosted our 3rd annual virtual Open House on December 13th, 2022. The event featured updates from our clinical and research collaborations from the past year.

Kishore Mulpuri hosted the event as the Head of the Hippy Lab, while Dr. Emily Schaeffer, the Hippy Lab Research Director, presented the lab highlights. The event also featured an address from Martin Shen, the new chairman of the board of the I’m a HIPpy foundation.
