Congratulations Duneesha on Completing your Masters!
Huge congratulations to Duneesha De Silva, a longtime member of our lab, for successfully defending her Masters Thesis!
Since joining the Hippy Lab in 2021—first as a co-op student, and then as a Master’s student, Duneesha has been a core part of the Hippy team for a long time.
Duneesha’s thesis focused on understanding the experiences of patients and caregivers navigating the journey or have previously received care for Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH).
Through focus group discussions, she helped captured diverse perspectives on the DDH care trajectory and identified patient and family priorities that will shape future research. These sessions enable us to understand the DDH care journey through a wide variety of lenses and pinpoint patient and caregiver priorities to investigate. With the knowledge from her research project, the Hippy Lab is forming a patient and family advisory group to co-develop DDH research priorities that are truly relevant to those directly affected.
