Welcoming María Medina Giner from AO Innovation Translation Center
In June 2025, the Hippy Lab was delighted to host María Medina Giner, Clinical Research Associate from the AO Innovation Translation Center (AO ITC) in Switzerland, for a collaborative visit with our team.
María works closely with our team on the AO PedOrtho registry, an international initiative aimed at collecting data on key long bone fractures in children—including the proximal and distal humerus, proximal radius, forearm shaft, femoral neck, tibial shaft, and traumatic hip dislocation. The registry’s goals are to identify variability in treatment practices across surgeons and centres, and to determine which approaches yield the best outcomes, particularly in areas where clinical controversy or equipoise exists.
We’re grateful for María’s visit and look forward to continued collaboration with the AO ITC team to improve the lives of children around the world.
